One of the best mountainbike tours you can do in your life even got better. The circle around the Latemar, one of the most beautiful and breathtaking mountains of the Italian Dolomites in the Eggental/South Tyrol, is a must for every avid mountainbiker.
Imagine a 60k loop meandering around gigantic rugged and steep needles of rock. You will encounter everything which makes mountainbiking fascinating: From fast descends on gravel, demanding singletracks over roots and rocks, flowing forest paths to easy rolling cycle lanes in the valley. Sometimes you are very close right at the feet of this unforgettable alpine landmark with its dramatic towering walls. On other parts of the tour you enjoy the view from a distance while rolling over lush mountain meadows or while conquering one of the stony rutty singletracks South Tyrol is famous for.
Now the tireless local scouts of the Eggental discovered a new trail adding even more fun to this unbelievable alpine mountainbike tour. Combined with several gondolas and chair lifts even the uphills are a blast. From Welschnofen the 2013 newly built gondola transports us up close to the Pass of Carezza. Following a network of trails we leave the province of South Tyrol and enter the region of Trentino. A partly demanding singletrack brings us down to the valley of Fassa. Rolling to the gondola of Valbona and continuing from the top of the hill we discover one of the new highlights: The track no. 622 leading over the Forcella Pozil and then descending in switchbacks through lush green meadows.
The Predazzo gondola carries us to the perfect place for the lunch break: The Gardoné hut. A chairlift from there takes only minutes up to the Passo Feudo. The last descent is again a great mix of singletracks, forest paths and fast gravel roads back to the village of Welschnofen.
There is also the classic tour around the Latemar on easy rolling gravel roads and forest paths, suited for all kinds of mountainbike riders including families and kids.
The whole Latemar tour is offered as a package with a mountainbike guide, a ticket for all gondolas and chairlifts and can be booked with the Tourism board Eggental.
